Laser Weapons and Ford Ecoboost | Meet Mike
By Tori Tellem
Laser weapons and Ford EcoBoost.® Kind of a disconnect, right?
Not so.
Meet Mike. Before becoming a Ford software engineer, he designed fancy stuff like tools for disabling enemy satellites (you might know them by their stage name: laser weapons).
Now Mike's putting that masterful mind to work to help make Ford vehicles run cleaner and better, without sacrificing power.
Torque. Drivability. Efficiency. And power—Mike's pulling out all the stops to make EcoBoost run stronger and smarter.

Have a Seat On Us! Our Bench & The Jubilee of Trees
By Lindsay Vandermyde
Did you know that the Jubilee of Trees is a fundraiser for the hospital? This year the proceeds benefit the new trauma center.
Every year in November they hold a dinner & auction, concerts, and an event open to the public to see all the donated & beautifully decorated trees. Since we have been a sponsor for the Jubilee for so many years, we now have a bench outside the hospital!
So, have a seat-on us! (Both literally and figuratively!)
This year, we are sponsoring the BAR J WRANGLERS concert during the Jubilee held November 20-25 this year. BUY YOUR TICKETS at Ken Garff St George Ford Lincoln!
145 West Hilton Drive in St. George.
Questions? Call us at (435) 674-3200.
See you at the Jubilee!!!

5 Reasons to Buy From a New Car Dealer
By Lindsay Vandermyde
The ol' hoopty is on it's last leg. Now what? Do you scan the internet & local classifieds for your preferred vehicle, or do you stop by your neighborhood dealer and see what they have in stock?
While you can still scan the internet to make sure you are getting a good price on the vehicle you are looking for, your best bet is to go to someone who knows cars--like a dealer.

Master of the Manual Transmission--Are you? | Ken Garff St George Ford Lincoln
Are you a master of the manual transmission?
Drivers who conquer the stick shift know the exact moment to switch gears. They keep an eye on the tachometer, or they simply listen to the sound of the engine.
But wouldn't it be amazing if the car just told you when to shift, say by vibrating the shifter?
Ford engineer Zach Nelson came up with this exact idea. Inspired by vibrating video game controllers, he designed a shifter that actually tells you when to change gears.
Check it out:

Swiss Easter Egg Traditions | Ken Garff St George Ford Lincoln
By Lindsay Vandermyde
I have a confession. For a large part of my younger life, I lived in Santa Clara, Utah. A small city on the outskirts of town that is rich in Swiss Heritage and home of people with names ending in Gubler, Hafen, Ence, Frei, etc. My family was transplanted from Salt Lake City. People there would ask us questions like, "So, who are you related to?" and when we would say "no one around these here parts" (ok, we may have answered a little differently...), they would look at us in shock as to how we ended up in the "valley" of Santa Clara without being related to a soul. Funny.
Back to my confession. Santa Clara holds their annual Swiss Days celebration in September providing all kinds of activities and programs where all can experience the traditions of their ancestors. As for me, I went there to look at the shopping & food booths and listen to Rag-Time Rhonda sing "Play Me Some Mountain Music"
& play the fiddle, and hang out with friends (by the way, does anyone know Rag-Time Rhonda's real name?). I had no clue about the Swiss and their traditions. Was I just a typical teenager? Probably, but with a good chunk of my friends being Swiss, you'd think I would know.

Q: When is it time to replace my car's filters? | Ken Garff St George Ford Lincoln
Answer:
by Ford Senior Master Technician, Jim Twitchell:
"Don't think about changing these filters on a seasonal basis; change them on a usage basis. The more you use your car, the more the filters have to sift out the particulates in the air.
There are actually three kinds of filters that require regular attention and maintenance: engine, cabin, and fuel. The first keeps dirt and other particles out of the intake system and combustion chamber. It keeps your engine breathing, and when it gets plugged up, airborne matter enters, causing damage to sensors and doing things like turning on the "Check Engine" light.
The cabin air filter makes sure air coming into your car is clear of particulate. It used to be a luxury item, but now it's maintstream and even essential. You should pull it out and inspect on a regular basis.
The final filter that needs monitoring is the fuel filter. It needs to go when you hit a mileage milestone which varies by vehicle. Some will be at 30,000 others and 50,000."
You can find out what your vehicle needs and when to make replacements, in your owners' manual or by visiting Ken Garff St George Ford Lincoln. The Works Package, which gets you a complete inspection of your vehicle's belts, hoses, steering, tires and more, is the best way to stay covered.
