Local with Lindsay | Fuego House of Dance

I stopped by Fuego House of Dance to attend their Zumba fitness class. It was REGGAE night and since my dreadlocks and multi-colored hat were at the cleaners, I opted for an all-black ensemble. I have to say, from the moment I walked in, the energy was just addicting! People around me were laughing & talking vivaciously with their friends while we were waiting for the class to begin. And then it began. WOW! Talk about some serious FUN. The moment Shelley & Heidi stepped on their stage, the room went positively WILD!
I had to to pinch myself to see if I was really at an exercise class or a PARTY. It was not your mama's jazzercise, that's for dang sure. It was a party and a half and I didn't want it to end!

Shelley & Heidi say from day one, their students have always been the MOST important thing. They wanted to create a place where people could come feel comfortable, important, happy, get healthy and that they could afford.  They love to dance and have seen 150 lbs melt away between Heidi and Shelley .

They offer  Zumba, Belly Dancing, Insane Fit, Polynesian Dancing , Acting ,Jazz, Ballet ,Power Tap , Hip Hop, Pole Dancing and Cheer (they are the only studio in Southern Utah to have a Sunday Zumba class.), Event/ Theme nights, tons of community performances and they know everyone by name!!
Their most popular class is Zumba with Insane Fit and Hip Hop growing like crazy.

Go party with Fuego House of Dance!

Local with Lindsay | Review of PERKS! Espresso & Smoothies

By Lindsay Vandermyde

Need a little pick-me-up?

Then you need to head over to PERKS! Espresso & Smoothies. Right. NOW!

Not only do they have a million coffee and coffee-free options and variations of iced, hot, and blended drinks, they have wonderful fruit smoothies you can put in boosters like "Hangover" or "Women's Blend"--and for the daring super-healthy..."Wheat Grass."

In my trip to their Sunset location (they have 3--Sunset, Harmon's Parking Lot, and Rite Aid Parking lot), I enjoyed a delicious "Chunky Monkey" and a Greek Turkey Wrap. The wrap was full of flavor and the ingredients that went inside of it (turkey, lettuce, olives, zippy dressing, wonderfulness...) felt very fresh and very healthy. The Chunky Monkey sent my taste buds spinning and I could hear them calling for "More, More!" Give me anything topped with whipped cream and you pretty much own me...!

The Owner of PERKS!, Lori Hanna, used to work in law enforcement and developed a love for coffee. An opportunity presented itself to start PERKS!, and ever since she has continued to put her heart and soul into quality ingredients and a vibrant customer experience. She realizes that life is busy, so she wanted to create a place where people on the go can still have their coffee or drinks, without sacrificing flavor and quality. The Sunset location still maintains a drive-through for that very purpose, but also offers a cool, "Friends" (tv show) kind of atmosphere if you want to just hang out with your buddies or curl up on one of their cushy seats with a good book. It's very possible you might see Phoebe singing "Smelly Cat" in the corner or Ross and Rachel on the sofa. Possible. But not likely. But you may see Lori, and that's even better!

Stop by PERKS! Espresso & Smoothies.  They make YOUR drink YOUR way.

Local with Lindsay | Extreme Mattress Outlet Review

By Lindsay Vandermyde

The Extreme Mattress Outlet is a great place to buy your next mattress. I couldn't believe the prices on the "name-brand" mattresses! You can score an excellent mattress for 40-70% off retail!  As I was bouncing around, I could feel the variety and even the quality of each unit.

Their customer service is top-notch and they know their products inside and out. There are not too many places these days where you can get one-on-one service while choosing your item (except for say, St George Ford...! C'mon. You know I couldn't resist that plug!).

Extreme Mattress even encourages you to "dress comfortable" so you can try each mattress. So, grab Mr. Teddy and your flannel P.J.'s and head on over! They want you to be happy with your purchase and are willing to let you try out each unit, although I don't think they offer breakfast in bed...

All in all, it was a friendly experience and I will definitely be back--even if it's just for a nap!

Off to the Chiropractor now because after that fall (however padded), I'm pretty sure my back and wrist will never be the same! Just kiddin.'

Kind of.

Local with Lindsay | Experience with 25 Main

By Lindsay Vandermyde
I thought I'd write a little about what you didn't see in the video about
The gorgeous red-headed manager, Carly, was so accommodating when I visited the establishment. You may not have seen her when you've dropped before because she is incredibly busy making the "behind the scenes" magic happen. Her vibrant energy and smile match the vibe of the restaurant.

The service and quality of food was fantastic! The Cobb Salad had lettuce that was fresh & crisp, the chicken was seasoned to perfection (not at all rubbery!), and the mix of vegetables & bacon made for a glorious display of delicious!

And, getting to my favorite part--the cupcake! I have to say the second I licked that first section of frosting my taste buds went absolutely BANANAS! I genuinely had a hard time not shoving it all into my face and making a spectacle of myself with gasps and moans of pure delight. It literally took all I had in me not to buy the whole platter of cupcakes and hide in the closet. And with that, I digress.
It was a dang good cupcake, though, and you MUST try. And then bring me another!

Twenty-Five Main supports local and traveling artists through both music and art. They also cater and provide fun cupcake birthday parties at a really great price. How fun would that be to take your kids to decorate cupcakes (and not have to worry about cleaning up!).
Sign. Me. Up!

So sum it up: Twenty-Five Main = Super Good. Eat there.
